The Israeli Defense Minister said that the defense forces “successfully killed senior Hamas official Ismail Barhoum at Nasser Hospital” in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, on Sunday evening.
Referring to the defense forces and the Shin Bet intelligence agency, he said that Ismail was the new prime minister of the Hamas government in Gaza. He replaced former Prime Minister Isham Da-Liss. Who was killed a few days ago.
The Israeli attack targeting Ismail Barhoum was captured by Qatar-based media Al Jazeera and BBC Arabic. A video posted on social media showed Al Jazeera journalist Nasser preparing to go live in front of the hospital. At that moment, something resembling a missile suddenly flew and hit the hospital. After that, it caught fire. Eight more people were injured in the incident.
According to the latest information, the fire has been brought under control. However, the hospital was again damaged in the attack.
Earlier on Sunday (March 23) night, Israeli forces attacked Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza. Ismail Barhoum and another person were killed in that attack. Hamas confirmed the death of Ismail Barhoum. They said that Ismail was receiving treatment at Nasser Hospital. He was killed there.
