Brazil Announces Start Date for World Cup

The 10th edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup will kick off in Brazil in 2027. This tournament will be held in a South American country for the first time. FIFA has announced the start and end dates for the event.

According to the schedule announced on Tuesday (December 10), the World Cup will begin on June 24, 2027, and the final will take place on July 25, 2027. This 32-day-long event will feature matches across various venues.
The draw to finalize the tournament schedule and venues will take place next year. Following the draw, FIFA, the governing body of world football will release the full schedule.

A total of 32 teams will participate in this tournament. The allocation of slots is as follows:

Europe (UEFA): 11 teams
Asia (AFC): 6 teams
Africa (CAF): 4 teams
North and Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF): 4 teams
South America (CONMEBOL): 3 teams (including host Brazil)
Oceania (OFC): 1 team

The remaining teams will be determined through playoffs.

In the 9th edition of the World Cup in 2023, Spain emerged as the champion. In the final held in Australia and New Zealand, they defeated England 1-0 to claim the title.

The upcoming Women’s World Cup in 2027 has already generated excitement among football fans. Hosting the tournament for the first time in South America is expected to mark a historic milestone.
