Two Men Caught Hiding Under Bed and in Wardrobe During Alleged Affair with Migrant Brothers’ Wives in Gaibandha

In Gaibandha’s Sundarganj, two men were caught red-handed allegedly having affairs with the wives of two Saudi expatriate brothers. The incident took place on Monday (August 25) night in the village of Paschim Ramjiban, under Ramjiban Union.

The detainees are Maruf Hossain (22), son of Rezaul Karim from Uttar Bekatari village; Alamgir Islam (24), son of Jahidul Islam from BBC Mor area; along with Yamin Begum (20), wife of expatriate Wahidul Islam; and Arfina Begum (20), wife of expatriate Shahidul Islam.

According to locals, the wives of the expatriate brothers often stayed at their parental homes, where they developed close ties with the two young men. On the night of the incident, villagers grew suspicious and raided the house. They found Maruf hiding under a bed and Alamgir concealed inside a wardrobe.

The angry villagers tied the four up, shaved the men’s heads, and forced them to wear garlands made of shoes. Later, police arrived at the scene, rescued the detainees, and took them to the police station.

Union Parishad member Shahjalal Sorkar said attempts were made to resolve the matter locally, but no one came forward. The police later took the four to court.

Sundarganj Police Station OC Md. Abdul Hakim Azad confirmed the arrests and said the accused were produced before court.
