Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that no kind of dishonesty will be accepted with the blood that was shed to end dictatorship in the country in the past. The future of the nation depends on a fair and impartial election so that the sacrifice of the people does not happen again.
He said, “We do not want any election that is questionable. Our warning to those concerned about the misdeeds and looting that are going on in the name of politics in the country – handle yourselves. Otherwise, the people will handle you, God willing. Get ready, a big fight awaits ahead.”
He said these things at a road meeting in Comilla’s Padua Bazar Bishwa Road area on Saturday (July 5) morning. Earlier, he also participated in another road meeting in Alekharchar area.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman further said, “We do not want an election with 14, 18 or 24 marks. There are indications of such attempts. Our message to those who are conspiring is that people have brought change once with their blood, if necessary, they will get their rights back in exchange for blood.”
He said, “Students, youth, workers—just as they stood up against injustice in the past with their hearts full of pride, now it is time to unite and prepare for justice again. We want to leave a country for our future generations where they can live in peace.”
The meeting was presided over by Comilla Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer Kazi Din Mohammad and moderated by Secretary Mahbubur Rahman. Jamaat’s central leaders, metropolitan and district level officials also spoke.
